Job Summary
The Connections Coordinator plays a vital role with communication and outreach to Farm and Food Businesses in North Iowa. This position involves supporting the communications director with marketing tasks and facilitating effective interactions with local food farmers and businesses. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, is self motivated - with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently, and possesses strong time management stills. Experience with agriculture, local food systems, marketing, websites, event planning and/or non-profit work would be assets.
Duties
- Recruit and retain HHNI members, maintaining accurate records and engaging with current members.
- Identify and reach out to potential new members and sponsors.
- Share resources, funding opportunities, and events with members (producers and general list) through monthly newsletters and ongoing outreach.
- Build relationships with producers to understand their needs and connect them with relevant programs and services.
- Coordinate planning of workshops, on farm field days and/or producer networking events.
- Coordinate with the HHNI team to plan an annual membership appreciation event.
- Manage HHNI’s social media platforms, creating and scheduling content to promote programs, events, member highlights and responding to messages in a timely manner.
- Perform minor website updates, including posting events, updating resources, and ensuring accurate information.
- Promote HH and local food events happening in North Iowa through identified methods.
- Assist with fundraising efforts and events.
Experience
- The candidate should be proficient with Google Workspace, Mailchimp, Canva and various social media platforms.
- Experience with Wordprss is a plus, but not required.
- Experience with agriculture, local food systems, farmers markets would be an asset.
- Event planning, fundraising and grant writing experience would be useful.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
