Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (AOD), CADC
Healthy Living & Lifestyles, Inc. is seeking to hire a full-time and Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor to our inpatient detox/residential drug and alcohol treatment facility, located in Santa Clarita, CA.
We are looking to hire as soon as possible.
Summary
The Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor will have a case load assigned to them and will be responsible for facilitating groups, as well as one on one counseling sessions. This is a certificated position and requires in good-standing certification through the California Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP) and maintain a CADC or equivalent.
Responsibilities – Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (AOD)
- Provide one on one counseling and case management sessions
- ASAM assessment during intake.
- Treatment plan .
- UR report
- Facilitate and co-facilitate group counseling and educational sessions
- Keep and maintain detailed treatment and progress notes
- Develop appropriate plans for treatment based on individual history, need
- Provide appropriate referrals and act as a client advocate, when appropriate
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to clients, when appropriate
- Case Management
Qualifications – Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (AOD)
- Maintains in good-standing, CADC certification
- 3 years of counseling experience
- Strong Knowledge of ASAM required
- 3 years of experience in AOD in a residential setting, preferred
- Exercises mature judgment and projects a professional demeanor
- Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent professional and personal boundaries with clients
Other Requirements –* Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (AOD)
- Must possess current and valid California driver’s license, transportation
- Upon hire, employee will be required to complete pre-employment drug screen, TB clearance
- Candidates in recovery must have three (3) years ongoing sobriety
- Shall maintain CPR/First Aid Certification
