*Overview* We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients, particularly in environments such as PICU, inpatient units, and geriatrics. The Personal Care Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to individuals with diverse medical needs. *Responsibilities* - Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility. - Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff. - Provide companionship and emotional support to patients. - Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed. - Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients. - Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner. - Support patients during rehabilitation exercises as directed by healthcare professionals. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in settings such as Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, emergency medicine units, and teaching hospitals. *Qualifications* - Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role preferred. - Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare practices is beneficial. - Familiarity with various medical environments such as hospital medicine, medical-surgical units, and geriatrics is a plus. - Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations typical of emergency medicine or trauma centers. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team-oriented environment. - Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. - Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.
