Description :
This position supports our clinical staff with patient specific administrative tasks. This position will be responsible for scheduling, documentation, insurance verification, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Essential Job Functions :
- Answer incoming calls, which may include screening calls, taking messages, and providing information to patients, physicians, providers, hospitals, and staff.
- Document correspondence in the patient's medical record. Update demographic and insurance information in the Athena EHR.
- Verify insurance and network status using payer portals and / or calling insurances
- Coordinate internal schedules and booking patient appointments.
- Ensure all necessary medical documentation is processed according to standard procedures.
- Ensure communication with patients and internal departments are accounted for and each party has a clear understanding of pertinent information in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with clinic staff to follow up on patient requests.
- Responsible for administrative duties including scanning paperwork, data entry, and general organization.
- Maintain patient confidence and protect business operations by keeping information confidential.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
