Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Patient Care Coordinator to join our Audiology team. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth patient experience from the moment they enter our facility. The Patient Care Coordinator will be responsible for managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and providing administrative support within an audiology environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of insurance billing and possess strong communication skills to effectively act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival and assist them with the check-in process.
- Explain general insurance benefits and collect co-pays/payments as needed.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring optimal time management for providers.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage documentation in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up care.
- Assist in the coordination of referrals from physicians as needed.
- Provide administrative support including answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and managing correspondence.
- Collaborate with Audiologists and Audiology Assistant to ensure continuity of care for patients.
- Handle billing inquiries and assist patients with insurance verification processes.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an audiology, medical or dental office setting is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and staff.
- Proficiency in office software applications and electronic health record systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
