Overview
The Audiology Assistant position involves supporting the audiologist by performing delegated tasks in a busy private practice. The role requires effective communication with patients and staff, as well as the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Managing patient phone calls
- Scheduling appointments
- Verifying patient insurance benefits
- Collecting payments on accounts, co-payments, and deductibles
- Packaging and mailing ear mold orders, device repairs, and factory returns
- Performing inventories of equipment and supplies
- Troubleshooting and performing minor repairs to hearing aids
- Instructing patients on proper use and care of hearing aids and ear hygiene
- Communicating patient arrival to clinical staff promptly and monitoring patient waiting time
Experience
- Valid Audiology Assistant License, Hearing Instrument Specialist License or 3 Years Experience in an Audiology Office
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (Blueprint preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize duties within strict deadlines
- Dependable team player with a positive attitude
- High degree of motivation and ability to work in a collaborative environment
