Esquire is looking for an Associate Entertainment Editor with a passion for TV, movies, music, and books to join our editorial team. You will write multiple articles daily for the entertainment vertical, keeping SEO best practices, Google Discover trends, and social media buzz in mind. Many of these will be assigned, but an ideal candidate will come with several daily pitches. You may also contribute to Esquire’s print issues as needed. Pieces will range from quick-hit news to reviews to interviews and trend pieces as well as lists and explainers.
Responsibilities
This position is based in the NYC office a minimum of 3 days a week but most likely closer to 4-5 days in office.
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Responsibilities
- Pitch and write digital editorial content, primarily SEO-based, for the entertainment vertical
- Pay attention to digital content performance to actively adjust pitching and packaging strategies
- Write daily for the site
- Write front-of-book and service copy for the magazine, when needed.
- Cover live event broadcasts (awards show, sporting events, premieres, etc.)
- Cover/attend industry events (premieres, junkets, festivals)
- 2 years of experience creating content for mainstream media publications
- Deadline-driven, creative thinker, with a strong service journalism sensibility
- Skilled in original reporting and writing, with a strong voice
- Able to file clean, concise copy
- Knowledge of (and affinity for!) SEO best practices for optimizing web content
- Versatility, agility and the ability to shift gears quickly in a daily publishing environment
- Bachelor's degree

Salary : $64,000 - $66,000
