Job Description
Hearst Health has an opening for an Assistant Controller based onsite in the Charlotte, NC office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading accounting, forecasting and budgeting operations of the centralized accounting team providing corporate and business unit level support. It includes oversight of accounts payable, capitalized spending, general accounting, and provides support for financial and other strategic initiatives. This position is also responsible for the production and consolidation of segments of the division's periodic financial reports, budgets and related analysis.
The position will report to Hearst Health Vice President & Group Controller at its Charlotte, North Carolina offices. This full-time exempt position offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, vision and 401(k) matching.
Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for the following :
- Oversee day to day accounting and finance functions and lead accounting staff
- Production of segments of monthly and annual financial books, including complete & accurate reporting, related analysis and reconciliations.
- Manage and increase efficiencies around accounting procedures, systems, and workflow
- Manage and coordinate month end close through collaboration with multiple locations
Review and approve monthly journal entries
