Elle is looking for a
Fashion News Editor
to create smart, trend-driven, thought-provoking, and engaging fashion content across all of our platforms. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of fashion, and the ability to write about the industry and trends. The fashion news editor will write daily trend and news content, cover industry events and fashion shows, and help ensure that our style coverage feels authoritative and elevated.
Responsibilities : Pitch and produce daily digital posts, as well as edit digital posts by in-house writers and freelancers.Cover live fashion events with authority, including runway shows and brand events.Write fashion articles; interview experts and make market selections.Create social media content (Instagram, TikTok, etc.) to bring our content to life beyond print and the website.Work with our ecommerce lead on newsletters, social media packages, etc., as needed.Qualifications :
5-6 years of post-grad experience editing and / or writing for a digital consumer publication, with a particular emphasis on fashion contentSomeone with a strong voice and presence on social media in the fashion and culture spaceA creative ideator, who is passionate about developing 360-degree franchises and programs (digital, print, social, experiential) around fashionYou are willing to travel to cover fashion events and launchesYou are knowledgeable about SEO best practices and able to utilize Google Analytics or other toolsYou bring deep knowledge of fashion, fashion trends, and the industry, and have meaningful relationships in the fashion worldYou are confident writing for digital and social media in the Elle voiceYou are a true multi-tasker who can work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
The base salary for this role is between $67,000 and $77,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as : transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
