Job Description
SUMMARY
The Senior Product Owner is responsible for driving and delivering key initiatives for our Customer Care product lines, including our internal customer service tools, our customer self service offerings, and our single sign on identity platform. They gather requirements, create user stories, and work with IT to ensure the product vision is met. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders such as clients, end-users, vendors, and internal teams like sales and operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintains confidentiality of CDS Global and its clients' proprietary information.
- Develops and maintains detailed knowledge of assigned product line(s) including product features and functions, and system interdependencies. Once product is in production, manages the development of the product through the product's lifecycle.
- Owns the product management role in the agile development methodology including creating user stories and acceptance criteria, managing and prioritizing the backlog, and participating in sprint planning, demo, and retrospective sessions.
- Works closely with product stakeholders to plan, launch and implement products on time, on budget, and according to requirements and specifications.
- Participate in product positioning activities, including providing demonstrations.
- Translates customer / client needs and business needs into new product features and solutions that map to the overall product vision and strategy.
- Analyzes and measures product adoption and use, making strategic recommendations for areas of investment, maintenance, and retirement.
- Provides a consistent contact point for product discussions and product issues.
- Works closely with Product Management staff and business partners to identify and maximize opportunities to use information and technology to improve product and business processes.
- Defines, develops and implements quality assurance practices and procedures, end user test plans and other QA assessments.
- Proactively communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed : (Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), iii. Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs).
- Interprets customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
- Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
- Develops requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
- Collaborates with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
- Serves as a functional expert for assigned product and liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
- Responsible for the analysis of complex business, product and operational requirements and successful development product solutions.
- Owns key processes and documentation applicable to product, product development workflow, standards, and product management.
- Organizes tasks and resources to complete projects and / or meet deadlines in dynamic, fast-paced technical environment.
- Interacts in cooperative and professional manner, with all levels of employees, vendors and / or clients, in team environment.
- Follows CDS Global ergonomic and safety policies.
- Travels as needed.
- Works on-call or extended hours when required or requested.
