Local News Traffic Anchor Reporter
WYFF 4, the NBC affiliate in Greenville, SC, is now hiring a
Traffic / Breaking News Anchor.
We need a good storyteller who has excellent on-air presence and engagement skills. We want someone who can captivate our viewers on social media and a journalist who will grow this position.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare morning report with dynamic graphicsNews gather for traffic reportsProvide concise live traffic reports for morning show and, as needed, evening showsResearch and report up-to-the-minute traffic conditionsCommunicate important traffic information to the show producers and show anchors promptlyMake sure that corresponding graphics, video and live shots are used accuratelyCommunicate morning traffic information to viewers through digital platforms including our station website, mobile app, and social media pagesProduce transportation related stories and present traffic information i the fieldProduce and Anchor breaking news updates through the morning newscast, at the direction of news managementRequirements
Professional or college experience as a journalist and storyteller in a commercial television stationExperience using traffic systems preferredSuited to ad-lib in breaking news situationsClear speech, basic knowledge of how to use a computer and basic knowledge of social mediaFamiliar with street and highway names and directions; quick to learnMust be creative and work well with othersRelated military experience will be consideredDiversity Statement
