Fully Remote Intake Specialist (Part-Time)
Location: Dubuque, IA

Applicants must not be working full or part-time for another mental health agency where similar billable services are provided.
Heart and Solutions is seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Intake Specialist / Mental Health Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting initial mental health assessments, gathering client information, and assisting in the development of treatment goals. You will work closely with clients to assess their mental health needs, and help facilitate their entry into BHIS services.

About the Position:
As an Intake Specialist you will:
- Conduct initial intake assessments for clients seeking Behavioral Health Intervention services (BHIS).
- Complete comprehensive assessments to identify mental health conditions, emotional concerns, and needs.
- Gather relevant client information, including medical history, personal background, and social history.
- Evaluate risk factors, including suicide ideation, substance abuse, and other urgent concerns.
- Maintain detailed and accurate client records, ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards (HIPAA).
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure clients receive the appropriate level of support.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- This position does NOT provide on-going individual or family therapy for clients.

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- State licensure or certification as a mental health counselor (LISW, LMHC, LMFT)
- Previous experience conducting mental health assessments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of mental health diagnosis, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Flexibility to work a part-time schedule, including evenings, as needed.
Requirements:
