What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist / Cardiac Monitor Technician position at Heart and Vascular Care?
We are hiring a Cardiac Monitor / Phlebotomist Lab Technician for an exciting opportunity to join our growing team in our Canton GA office.
- This position will work 2 roles;
- 1 - Phlebotomist - helping in the lab doing blood lab work. All candidates must be skilled at Phelbotomy. We will train you for the monitor placement part of the position.
- 2 - caridac monitor tech placing Halter and Event monitors on patients and maintaining all monitor inventory.

Monday-Friday, 8AM - 5PM, no nights or weekends
Duties may include but not limited to:
- Place Holter and Event Monitors on patients, providing explanation of the process and answer any questions the patient may have
- Download information from monitors and creating encounters within the EMR system
- Daily inventory control of monitors – including following up with patients on unreturned monitors, communicate with the monitor company to replace/send out monitors to be repaired
- Troubleshooting monitors as needed with patients
- Sanitizing monitors and preparing for the next patient
- Performs venipuncture to obtain and prepare blood specimens for testing and follows up on the results
- Explaining blood draw process clearly to patient
- Answering questions pertaining to blood collection
- Applying dressings to wounds created by drawing blood
- Registering the blood and storing it correctly
- Sending blood samples to testing laboratories
- Maintain records of blood samples and the results that are returned for each blood sample
- Perform EKG’s when needed
