What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Consultant for a Vocational School position at Heart-Centered Health and Wellness?
Starts at $68 per hour and goes up depending on credentials and experience. This job is on-site in Bangor, ME. We are hiring for 2 positions. One position at 35 - 40 hours/week and one position at 15-20 hours per week.

Do you want to spend your time in a rewarding setting working with youth and young adults? This on-site position is in a Health Clinic. This clinic is on a Vocational School Campus. You will spend your days working in an integrated healthcare team with professionals who are committed to assisting students in their emotional, mental, spiritual and educational journey toward adulthood. These are hardworking students who are learning a trade to they can be self-sufficient members of their community. You will act as an independent clinician to assess, treat, recommend and refer students, as needed, for additional care. Days and hours are flexible within the range of 7am - 5pm, Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities
- Provide mental health counseling to teen youth and young adults.
- Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Implement behavioral therapy techniques to address mental health issues.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Stay current on best practices in mental health counseling and therapy techniques.
Education Requirements
The following education requirements are considered essential:
- Master's Degree in social work or counseling, or doctorate in psychology, required.
- Licensed practitioner in the State of Maine.
- LMFT, LMSW, LCPC will also be considered.
Qualifications
- Strong background in mental health counseling
- Proficiency in behavioral therapy and patient assessment
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation
- Experience in working with youth and/or young adults with mental health disorders
- Ability to provide crisis intervention and refer as necessary
- Certification in mental health counseling is preferred and ME State licensure required
Must Have's: Must have experience working with youth or young adults
