Summary

As a General Dentist, you will be essential in delivering comprehensive dental care and enhancing patient health through effective assessment and treatment. Your core skills in dental terminology, patient care, and medical documentation will guide your interactions and procedures, including dental extractions. With premium expertise in pediatric dentistry and oral surgery, you will cater to diverse patient needs. Your relevant experience in dental office operations will support a smooth workflow, ensuring that every patient receives high-quality care in a welcoming environment. Essential Functions:

  • Provides and oversees direct dental diagnosis, treatment, procedures, and care for a specified patient population
  • Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions
  • Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards as appropriate to the position
  • Participates in specified health promotion, education and /or prevention programs
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Advises patients on oral hygiene
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills; active listening as well as written and oral comprehension/communication skills; Bilingual (Spanish/English) language skills helpful
  • Excellent customer service skills; actively seeks ways to assist internal and external customers within the scope of assigned duties
  • Good basic mathematical skills; uses a calculator or other means to accurately figure all transactions
  • Good computer skills; Outlook, Windows, Microsoft Office applications; Dentrix exposure preferred
  • Excellent time management skills; self evaluates the use of time and understands how others may be affected
  • Cultural diversity awareness and skills; respects all people regardless of race, nationality or social standing
  • Ability to work independently (self motivating) and as a team member
  • Ability to develop a collaborative therapeutic alliance with individuals and make accurate professional judgments
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, providers, managers, patients and vendors
  • Problem sensitivity skills; empathetic/understanding
  • Deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Organized and detail oriented

Education, Experience and Licensure:

  • Doctorate degree in Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine required
  • Current and valid license to practice dentistry required

Physical Demands:

  • May sit and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction device(s)
  • Dexterity and hand to eye coordination as normally associated with operating office equipment, computers and telephones

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No nights

License/Certification:

  • DEA Certification (Required)
  • Dental License (Required)
