Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Registrar, you will greet patients, families, visitors arriving at the hospital, escorting the patient to the appropriate area and performing clerical duties as needed. You will work collaboratively with other departments, including patient access, to ensure that the patient’s needs are met.

• You will greet patients and families upon arrival at the hospital and notify registration of patient’s arrival at the hospital
• You will support registration activity during high volume hours of the department
• You will ensure charts are complete and accurate
• You will verify all insurance, obtain pre-certification, and collect patient liable amounts
• You will adhere to Cash Collection Policies and maintain integrity of the cash drawer
• You will secure all signatures necessary for treatments, release of medical information, assignment of insurance benefits, and payment of services from legally responsible parties
• You will obtain cell phone numbers of waiting family members
• You will ensure patients are kept aware of their wait time expectations
• You will perform all necessary office and other duties opening and closing procedures as needed
• You will maintain departmental records and keeps information sheets updated
• You will wheel emergency patients to the emergency registration area
• You will help patient units with patient discharges
  
  

What qualifications you will need:

• 1 - 3 years of healthcare experience
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
