Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, wound care, and monitoring vital signs
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, such as cardiac catheterization and sonography
- Perform venipuncture and IV insertion for medication administration and IV infusion
- Document patient information, progress, and treatments in electronic health record systems like Athenahealth
- Educate patients and their families on healthcare procedures, medications, and self-care techniques
- Monitor and assess patients for changes in condition or response to treatments
- Provide support and assistance to patients with developmental disabilities, pediatrics, senior care, or other specialized areas
Experience:
- Valid LPN/RN license in the state of South Carolina
- Proven experience working with patients in various healthcare settings
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems like Athenahealth
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Ability to perform venipuncture, IV insertion, and administer medications
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
