The person in this position performs professional psychological work that involves testing, developing a diagnosis and endorsing previous diagnoses. - Administers and scores psychometric and projective tests to determine eligibility for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities services. Review psychiatric, psychological, medical, school, and other relevant information for individuals seeking IDD services. Completes written reports in accordance with 40 TAC Chapter 9, Subchapter D; 40 TAC Chapter 9, Subchapter N; 40 TAC Chapter 9.155(a)(2)(B) and 9.556(a)(2)(B)(ii)(II)
- Completes the Inventory for Client and Agency Planning (ICAP) admissions for all potential admissions to Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities providers (ICF/IID) in the six-county service areas served by HOTBHN.
- Endorses the Determination of Intellectual Disability or the testing for individuals who seek IDD services and have been deemed eligible for IDD services based on previous reports.
- Participates in staff development activities in relation to assigned duties and according to current program requirements. Maintains licensure as a psychologist including participation in CEU qualified trainings as required by the licensure board.
Experience and Education
- Doctorate Degree in Psychology from an accredited school.
- Prefer two years of work experience and training in clinical psychology and working with individuals with IDD.
- Licensure by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologist
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Considerable knowledge of psychology, tests and measurements, and a working knowledge of psychiatry and medicine
- Skills in administering psychometric and projective tests
- Ability to administer and interpret psychometric and projective tests, to exercise patience and understanding, to work effectively with consumers/families, coworker, and professionals to prepare accurate, comprehensive reports of tests and interviews.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to work remotely.
- Must have excellent verbal/written communication.
- Must be organized and have excellent time management skills.
