Under the immediate supervision of a supervisor or Unit Director performs assigned therapy and skills training services.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
  • Interviews clients, their relatives, and other interested individuals and agencies to obtain social and developmental histories to discover social/psychological problems.
  • Performs therapeutic treatment with clients or relatives of clients, under supervision of the Unit Director or Supervisor in consultation with a psychiatrist or other physician.
  • Participates as a team member in conferences designed for the diagnosis and treatment of clients.
  • Participates in the interpretation of methods and procedures to agencies responsible for carrying out recommendations of the clinic.
  • May supervise volunteers and students/interns.
  • Acts as liaison between all appropriate agencies, Lorena ISD, physicians, relatives of clients and community resources for purposes of admission, treatment, and discharge planning.
  • May participate in budget planning, unit administration, and program development.
  • Increases knowledge of Psychotherapeutic, Skillstreaming, and social work concepts by attendance at work related outside conferences and seminars whenever possible.
  • Performs related work as required.

Experience and Training
  • Experience as set forth under Education.
  • One year case management Preferred:
  • F:ully licensed or licensure candidate (LPC, LCSW, RN, LPC-Associate, LMSW, etc.

Education

A Masters or in progress of Masters degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field from an accredited school.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and practices of therapy and social work, the functioning of social service or treatment facility of community resources and how to use them effectively.
  • Must have and maintain a level of general health which permits the performance of job duties.
  • Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to transport clients and local travel 5% and regional travel 30% of the time.
  • Must have excellent clinical documentation skills.
  • Must have basic computer skills.

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Salary: $45,000-$64,000 DOE and Licensure
