What are the responsibilities and job description for the QMHP-CS II DC position at Heart of Texas Region MHMR Center?
Performs mental health services for severe adult mental health issue clients. Work involves conducting groups; site-crisis coverage and, provision of continuity of care to referred mental health individuals in crisis. Also, provides community outreach work as needed. Works under moderate supervision of DC Manager with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment in carrying out details of the work.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
- Provides crisis group therapy
- Provides on-site crisis assessments
- Provides crisis counseling and supports as deemed necessary
- Coordinates referrals to community-based providers
- Provides continuity of care services with all area providers
- Prepares progress notes and other required documentation.
- Participates on treatment team
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of mental illness and emotional components of physical illness; psychiatric diagnosis, psychosocial assessments and crisis intervention.
- Demonstrated skill in interviewing and reporting results of interviews.
- Considerable ability to work cooperatively and effectively with professional personnel; to exercise tact, initiate, and good judgment in dealing with clients and relatives.
- Ability to prepare reports and make recommendations for administrative use
- Ability to speak and write effectively; to relate to people and to interact with consumers.
- Must be able to be a licensure candidate (LPCi, LMSW, etc.).
- Must have excellent time management skills.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Basic computer skills to enter notes.
Experience and Training
- Requires successful experience in providing mental health services for persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
- Requires a working knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, psychosocial assessments and crisis intervention.
- One year of case management Preferred.
- Requires clinical documentation experience.
Education
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors or Masters Degree with a major in behavioral, social sciences, humanities, or education.
Annual Salary: $49,128-$57,822 DOE
Hours: 8a.-8pm Sunday-Tuesday and Alternating Wednesdays.
