Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center (HRRMC), located in the scenic town of Salida, Colorado, has an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO).HRRMC is one of the largest Critical Access Hospitals in Colorado with annual net patient revenues of $160M. A full range of services are offered, including Inpatient, OB, Outpatient, and Surgical & Rehabilitation Services.HRRMC employs over 80 physicians and providers in various specialties and subspecialties in 4 Provider-Based Rural Health Clinics, and several hospital-based clinics.
The CFO reports to the President/Chief Executive Officer and is a critical member of the executive leadership team, with responsibility for strategic planning, implementation, and management of all accounting and finance activities. The CFO oversees the Accounting Department, Revenue Cycle, Supply Chain, and Health Information Management. The CFO will be a visible and personable leader.
HRRMC has experienced tremendous growth over the past several years as our community continues to grow.We enjoy a favorable financial position with strong margins year-over-year and nearly 275 DCOH with little debt. Our next CFO will work with and lead skilled and highly engaged teams through several significant construction projects and the implementation of a new ERP and EHR system.
Salida is a destination community in the Central Rocky Mountains, home to world-class mountain biking, hiking, skiing, whitewater rafting, and trout fishing on the Arkansas River that flows through downtown. Colorado Springs, Denver, and the rest of the Front Range are an easy drive away.
Candidate qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Certified Public Accountant preferred. The next CFO will have a minimum of 5 years hospital leadership experience, preferably in a rural hospital setting. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of 5 years in a CFO role in a rural CAH or smaller PPS facility. Substantial knowledge of healthcare finances, operations, and the regulatory environment is required. Candidate must bring extensive knowledge of the revenue cycle and cost-based reimbursement methodologies.
