- Monitor and document EKG rhythms, measurements, and changes in patient records.
- Communicate rhythm patterns and any concerns with the primary RN using precise medical terminology.
- Troubleshoot lead placement, electrode issues, and battery changes to ensure accurate telemetry readings.
- Assist in critical situations like Code Blues, cardioversions, and pacemaker reprogramming by running monitor strips.
- Clean and maintain equipment and report malfunctions to BioMed and technical support.
- Knowledge of cardiac rhythms, PR, QRS, QT, and ST segment measurement.
- Effective communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.
- A proactive approach to patient safety and technology troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- Successfully pass written arrhythmia exam with score of 80% or better.
- Certified EKG Monitor Tech and successfully pass arrhythmia exam in Relias with score of 100% yearly.
- RN’s and Respiratory Therapist must have ACLS and successfully pass arrhythmia exam in Relias with score of 100% yearly.
- LPN and CNA’s successfully pass arrhythmia course and exam with a score of 80% or better.
- Must have and maintain current CPR or BLS certification.
