Position : Medical Staff Coordinator $3000 Sign on Bonus with 36 month Commitment

Position Overview :

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Staff Coordinator to join our team. The Medical Staff Coordinator will be responsible for managing the credentialing and privileging process for all medical staff members, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards. This role will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for all medical staff members, coordinating meetings and events, and providing administrative support to the Medical Staff Office.

Key Responsibilities :

Medical Staff Credentialing, Privileging, and Reappointment :

  • Responsible for oversight of medical staff credentialing and privileging for initial applicants and reappointments.
  • Responsible for oversight of requests for additional and temporary clinical privileges.
  • Reviews all completed applications for completeness and for adverse trends and patterns.
  • Responsible for oversight of complete applications ensuring submission to the Medical Executive Committee with recommendations sent to the Board for final action

Focused Professional Practice Evaluations / Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations

  • Responsible for ensuring that each practitioner applying for initial appointment, new or additional privilege, or when a question arises regarding a current privileged practitioners ability to provide safe, high quality patient care is assigned a Focus Professional Practice Evaluation, and a Mentor and that the process is completed timely according to policy.
  • Provide OPPE information to MEC as part of the re-credentialing process.
  • OPPE outliers will be submitted to MEC for evaluation per policy.
  • Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Policies

    Election of Medical Staff Officers

    CMS / TJC / Agency Surveys

    Qualifications :

    EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in health related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of continuous medical staff credentialing and privileging experience preferred.
  • A minimum of three to five years of continuous experience in a business, healthcare or other professional setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards related to medical staff services, including The Joint Commission and CMS
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
  • Experience with credentialing software preferred
