What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiac Device Specialist position at Heart One Associates, LLC?

- Maintain patient confidentiality as governed by the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Assists in triage of ICD and pacemaker patients while determining the need for physician involvement. Obtains direction and guidance when needed to make appropriate care decisions.
- Assists practice physicians as needed in the care of our patients in the office, related to the Electrophysiology Department coordinating efforts with ancillary staff & family members.
- Interrogates and troubleshoot Pacemakers and ICD’s and performs adjustments to said devices as needed within physician guidelines.
- Enroll patients & devices into remote monitoring.
- Assists in maintaining the patient database, and inputs data into eCW, Latitude, Carelink, Biotronik, and merlin.net as needed.
- Assists with scheduling of Pacemaker/ICD clinics within the Medicare guidelines when needed.
- Assists in developing departmental policies/procedures, and educational material as requested.
- Oversees scheduling for all patients of the clinic. Assures that new referrals to the clinic are entered into the database of the clinic & are educated in the procedures of the clinic.
- Device related callbacks for patient phone calls.
- Organizes & participates in patient education related to the Electrophysiology Department as well as general cardiology.
- Assists the Office Manager in supporting the practice & management directives, implementing changes as needed.
