Hiring full time preschool teacher

The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for early childhood education and a desire to make a difference in the lives of children. The position is responsible for working collaboratively with the classroom education team to provide a nurturing, consistent, developmentally appropriate environment that meets the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of children.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Cooperating with the Director/Assistant Director and Staff in maintaining the quality of HeartPrints Center
- Demonstrating respect, maturity, sensitivity, cooperation and professionalism in all interactions with children, families, volunteers and staff
- Maintaining specified hours and following designated procedures for absences or adjustments in daily work schedules
- Meeting all PA Department of Education requirements for teaching staff
- Working with a teaching team to create and implement daily lesson plans that support the HeartPrints curriculum for a designated group of children
- Working with a teaching team to maintain current comprehensive attendance records and individual portfolios for every child in his/her care
- Maintaining current lesson plans and records documenting center activities, policies and procedures
- Informing families assigned to your class of daily lesson plans, snacks, activities and policies/procedures
- Conducting parent conferences as requested
- Working with a teaching team in caring for the classroom and equipment including reporting items needing repair and requesting updated materials
- Promptly informing the Director/Assistant Director of all problems with children, parents, staff or classroom management
- Acting as a liaison with the Director/Assistant Director in connecting young children and their families with community resources/agencies
- Planning regularly with teachers and the Director.
- Assisting with the orientation of new staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field including Elementary Education, Special Education, Music Education, Art Education and Social Work. Individuals having degrees in related fields shall have a minimum of two years work experience with preschool children.
Physical Requirements/Mobility
- Must be able to provide supervision and monitor safety through both sight and sound in the classroom and on the playground
- Full range of body motion needed and change positions/ have the mobility to interact with young children
- Must be able to stand for long periods and/or sit on the floor
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Must pass a pre-employment physical exam (including TB test) for clearance to meet the physical requirements listed above
Requirements:
- Can successfully pass a Criminal Background Check
- Child Protective Clearances for PA and all states lived in prior five years
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
