Job Overview
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the social engagement of individuals.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's specific needs and preferences.
- Monitor and document clients' health status, including vital signs, behavioral changes, and any incidents that may arise.
- Support clients in participating in community activities and encourage skill development for greater independence.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other team members to ensure comprehensive care.
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Group home environments supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Assisted living facilities or home community care roles.
- Caring for a loved one with intellectual, developmental or physical disability.
Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with special needs, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Prior experience in direct support or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for dedicated individuals eager to make a difference in their community.

Pay: $17.25 - $18.25 per hour
