We are a fast-paced, growing heart and vascular clinic seeking a Sonographer. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with a strong ability to multitask. As a Sonographer you will complete all functions necessary to perform quality echocardiograms, stress echoes, and vascular studies.
Position Title: Registered Vascular Technologist
Job Summary: The Registered Vascular Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations in the field of echocardiography and vascular ultrasound to produce high-quality images for interpretation by physicians. This role requires expertise in operating ultrasound equipment, conducting patient assessments, and providing patient care throughout the imaging process.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct vascular ultrasound examinations according to established protocols and physician directives.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, obtaining medical history, and addressing any concerns.
- Position patients correctly to obtain optimal images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture clear and accurate images of the heart, blood vessels, and surrounding structures.
- Analyze images in real-time to identify abnormalities or areas of concern, adjusting imaging parameters as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret findings and assist in patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting procedures performed, patient history, and imaging findings.
- Calibrate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance and adherence to quality standards.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Stay informed about advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques through continuing education and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited program in diagnostic medical sonography or cardiovascular technology.
- Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS or RCS) OR Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT or RVS) required.
- 1-2 years of experience in cardiology
- Proficiency in performing all vascular ultrasound, and related procedures.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology as it relates to cardiac and vascular imaging.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in healthcare practice.
Physical Requirements
This position requires a full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.
