Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and verifying insurance information
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Take accurate vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers, including injections and inhalations
- Provide patient education on medication usage, treatment plans, and preventive care measures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment
- Assist with medical procedures such as wound care, specimen collection, and EKGs
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient patient flow and timely delivery of care
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or related healthcare role is preferred but not required
- Proficiency in medical administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling and record keeping
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is required or must be obtained within a specified timeframe
