Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Provide support in developing life skills and promote social interactions among clients.
- Provide transportation in company vehicle to and from the day program.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to the needs of each client, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any changes in behavior or health status.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other staff to ensure comprehensive care.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance caregiving skills and stay updated on best practices in long-term care and dementia care.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is essential.
- Certification in CPR is required.
- Previous experience in caregiving or as a direct support professional is highly valued.
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors in a calm and effective manner
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are crucial for success in this role.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
