As a Current Medicaid Waiver Caregiver, you play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for clients by offering personal care, companionship, and support in daily activities. This position requires a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment while ensuring the comfort and dignity of those you care for clients with Indiana Medicaid Waiver daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Monitor and document changes in clients’ health status and report any concerns to appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Support clients with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for clients, adhering to hygiene standards.
- Assist with medication reminders and ensure compliance with prescribed care plans.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with specific needs such as dementia care, hospice care, or long-term care requirements.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
- Experience in social work or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques to identify changes in health status.
- Familiarity with first aid practices is an asset.
- Ability to maintain a clean environment while providing personal care services.
