Heartfelt Impressions young preschool classroom in Clarkston has an immediate opening for an Assistant Teacher. The successful candidate should be creative, able to engage children with fun, hands-on activities that foster both their cognitive and social-emotional growth. Strong communication skills are essential, and a passion for continuous learning and growth in the field of early childhood education is key.
In collaboration with the Lead Teacher, the Assistant Teacher in the young preschool (3–4-year-old) classroom has responsibility for the care, supervision, and management of a classroom in accordance with set goals and curriculum plans.
SCHEDULE:
Full-time, Monday through Friday
Day shift
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have full time availability.
- Have a CDA or working towards a degree in Early Childhood/ related field (preferred)
- CPR Certification (can be completed after hire)
- Minimum of 18 years or older
- Reliable transportation required
- Prior experience in early childhood education (preferred)
- Background Check (conducted by Heartfelt Impressions)

Some essential functions of the Young Preschool Teacher are…
- Assist Lead Teacher in performing duties that are instructional in nature or deliver direct services to students or parents.
- Ensures overall safety of children
- Develops and implements daily lesson plans based on individual student’s needs and interests
- Implements High Scope curriculum, philosophy, and assessment tools
- Participates in Parent Teacher conferences
- Comply with licensing rules, regulations, and procedures
- Attend Heartfelt Impressions company/school meetings
- Partner with parents and assist students regarding “Toilet Learning” approaches
- Participate in snack and meal service Family Style Dining
- Ensure cleaning tasks are completed
- Ensure the classroom is engaging and developmentally age-appropriate
- Physically able to lift 15 pounds
