Junior Interior Designer
Overview
Hearth Homes Interiors is a full-service interior design studio specializing in beautifully curated historic home renovations, located in Santa Barbara, California. We’re seeking a creative, organized, and enthusiastic Junior Interior Designer to join our growing, collaborative team.
In this role, you’ll work directly alongside Lead Designers to bring our clients’ visions to life—from initial concept through final installation. Ideal candidates thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment, love learning new skills, and are eager to contribute proactively to exciting residential & hospitality projects.
Responsibilities & Duties
Client Engagement & Project Launch
- Lead client discovery calls, gathering essential details and helping establish project direction.
- Assist Lead Designers in developing detailed and engaging project proposals.
- Play an active role in planning and conducting the Research & Discovery phase, creating inspiring concept presentations.
Design Development & Execution
Source furnishings, fixtures, and materials aligned with project vision and client needs.Collaborate closely with drafting and rendering teams to create detailed 3D visualizations and floor plans.Independently develop initial design concepts, presenting them internally for feedback and revisions.Support Lead Designers in formal client presentations, helping communicate ideas clearly and beautifully.Project Coordination & Procurement
Lead procurement process, including creating detailed product proposals and invoices at designated milestones.Manage relationships with vendors and maintain studio resource library.Oversee receiving warehouse operations, inspecting incoming orders, and managing returns or exchanges when necessary.Communication & Documentation
Maintain proactive, clear weekly communication with clients, providing project updates and progress.Create and organize comprehensive construction documentation accessible via client-facing platforms.Prepare and organize all necessary materials for seamless client offboarding.Installations & Site Coordination
Regularly attend job-site visits and actively participate in installations, ensuring designs are executed accurately and thoughtfully.Administrative & General Duties
Prepare detailed design documentation binders and comprehensive furniture packages.Assist in maintaining project timelines by prioritizing tasks, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating effectively across internal teams.Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or related field preferred.2 years of professional experience in Interior Design preferred.Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; confident interacting with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.).Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.Able to lift up to 50 lbs comfortably.Experience on construction job sites a plus.Preferred Software Skills :
