Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete daily spotter inspection report prior to entering the truck.
Ability to drive semi-trucks.
Check and record all fluid levels and if any fluids are needed, the amount added should be noted as well. Complete daily yard check at the beginning of every shift
Inspect for any damages to the trailers and if damages found, bring to supervisor's attention immediately.
Check all fuel levels and temperatures on refrigerated trailers daily.
Ensure all deliveries are sealed or are locked on the trailer and reject any trailers with no lock or seal.
Inspect all inbound empty trailers prior to accepting them.
Sweep out all trailers and ensure it is emptied into the dumpster.
Keep the yard (both empty and loaded) in a neat and orderly manner.
Ensure trailers are lined up with the pads and backed in with minimal to no gaps.
Be sure to place a chock under the wheel when a dock lock is not available when a trailer is backed in.
Enter all moves into yard view and if it is down, it must be noted on the spotter moves form.
Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.'s) at all times.
Complies with all safety, health and environmental regulations as prescribed by law and Company policies.
Meets Company attendance standards of start and end times for work as scheduled.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with Company rules, regulations and policies.
Requirements:
Class A CDL required (basic)
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical and mental ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week.
Must have good eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity.
Able to frequently lift and/or move more than 100 lbs.
Ability to operate forklifts.
Ability to work in variable (hot and cold) temperatures.
Working Relationships:
Maintain harmonious working relationships with employee and management in all departments.
Experience and Skills:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Experience in using R.F. (Radio Frequency) System
Basic Math and Reading skills
