What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assessment Stabilization Representative position at Hearthway, Inc?
Come join our Housing Consumer Education Center (HCEC) Financial Assistance Team! Whether you have years of experience in case management or are looking for a career change and seek to help others striving for stable housing and economic self-sufficiency, we would welcome the opportunity to meet you.
Our financial assistance, mentoring and stabilization staff are a cohesive team that, together, support and guide over 400 low-income Berkshire County residents each year.
This position will maintain a case load of applicants spanning two programs. The first program helps to assist applications who are in a housing crisis with completing housing applications while providing guidance with next steps during a highly volitile time in their life. The second is to provide coaching and mentoring to households to meet their goals while overcoming barriers to self-sufficiency.
What does a typical day look like you might ask? The Assessment Stabilization Representative (ASR) will break up their week/month into designated time blocks to efficiently manage the requirements of the position.
Mornings begin with a review of emails, voicemails, and updates with the team. A task system will be followed to keep the ASR current with applications and where they are in process. Throughout each week, the ASR Team will troubleshoot, coach and strategize to help participants overcome barriers to their success while balancing empathetic listening and gentle redirection.
ASR's will have ongoing training opportunities as well as weekly, quarterly, and monthly meetings with the state funder to ensure appropriate administration of both programs. Each day closes with a final check of email and voicemail. The goal is to always end the day feeling accomplished knowing that you have made a positive difference in someone else's life.
