Description:
Heartland AEA has a full-time position for the 2025-26 school year and will have a 192-day contract. The assignment will be based in the Carroll office serving the Carroll Community School District and Kuemper Catholic School. The successful applicant will have experience applying principles, methods and procedures for an analysis of speech and language comprehension and production to determine communicative competencies of children. The position requires experience with direct service and problem solving, assessment and intervention, along with collaborative and consultative services related to speech and language development as well as disorders of communication that adversely affect a child's performance. In addition, the SLP must be able to build strong collaborative relationships with the LEA, parents, and community partners. Preference will be given to SLPs with experience working with ELL learners.
Qualifications:
Qualified applicants must be appropriately licensed/certified by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (or have the ability to obtain a license), hold a master's degree in speech pathology or communication disorders and possess a demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with parents, team members, administrators and LEA staff.
