Heartland Behavioral Health has been providing care for children and adolescents for over 100 years in Nevada, Missouri. We treat male and female patients ages 4 through 17 in acute and ages 4 through 17 females in the residential programs for conditions ranging from depression, anxiety and other mood disorders to recovering from a traumatic event. All of our programs have been designed and tailored to help our patients grow and prosper. Heartland programs are provided with a focus on Trauma Informed Care. We also offer leisure activities, such as baseball, basketball and an equestrian program, that allow children and adolescents to enjoy themselves while building self-confidence, trust and teamwork.

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable housekeeper to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting sustainable practices within our organization. This position will clean and service facility areas to ensure the safety, health, and morale of patients, visitors, and employees. For the resident/patient’s recovery, they help provide a clean, attractive, safe environment with minimal interference to others.
Responsibilities
- Sweeps and mops floors, seeing that all corners and mop boards are clean and free of dirt. Completes special assignments, e.g., buffing, stripping and refinishing floors
- Maintains carpet, e.g., vacuums, spot cleans and shampoos as a special assignment.
- Cleans and polishes metal, glass, and enamel fixtures. Replaces disposables such as paper towels, soap and tissue
- Collects and transports refuse and relines containers. Also maintains cleanliness of containers.
- Cleans tops of windows, door frames, and other high places using a ladder when necessary.
- Completes cleaning of discharged beds, using disinfectant cleaner.
- Completes job assignments as assigned by supervisor, in a productive manner. Works quietly so as not to disturb staff or patients.
- Completed work is neat, accurate, and thorough, e.g., mop buckets emptied and cleaned out. Carts cleaned.
- Ability to take initiative in situations, ability to take action when needed, e.g., dust mop floor if needed.
- Keeps carts and equipment clean and ready for use. Keeps supply room orderly.
- Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 21-years of age due to population served.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to fabricate innovative solutions for environmental challenges.
- Willingness to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
