Heartland Behavioral Health has been providing care for children and adolescents for over 100 years in Nevada, Missouri. We treat male and female patients ages 4 through 17 in acute and ages 4 through 17 females in the residential programs for conditions ranging from depression, anxiety and other mood disorders to recovering from a traumatic event. All of our programs have been designed and tailored to help our patients grow and prosper. Heartland programs are provided with a focus on Trauma Informed Care.
Heartland is nestled within 50 secluded acres in Nevada, Missouri, providing the perfect rural area setting for our residents to heal and grow. A reprieve from everyday life, our peaceful environment allows residents to return to the basics and reconnect with themselves and others. We also offer leisure activities, such as baseball, basketball and an equestrian program, that allow children and adolescents to enjoy themselves while building self-confidence, trust and teamwork.

JOB SUMMARY: Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the routine upkeep, maintenance, and repair to physical plant building, and equipment. May assist skilled trades or mechanics in more difficult work, but performs routine maintenance duties without continuing supervision.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Immediate Supervisor: Plant Operations Supervisor or Senior Maintenance II Worker. Supervision Exercised: N/A
QUALIFICATIONS (skills, knowledge, abilities): Some knowledge of the standard practices, procedures, and tools required in the general building trades; general knowledge of stationary equipment operations and maintenance or repair. Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent. A minimum of one year of experience in building maintenance or repair. Sufficient strength and agility to perform assigned tasks.

Working Conditions
- Physical Requirements: A wide range of motor activity is required in performing job responsibilities. The majority of activity will be standing, walking, bending, and lifting as necessary in the office setting. Ability to ascent and descent stairs in a timely fashion.
- Mental/Visual/Auditory: Concentration and attention to detail are necessary to evaluate the job duty. Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable the senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of the position may be fully met.
- Environment: The environment is an enclosed building subject to occasional inconveniences such as heating, cooling, ventilation and noise disturbances. Out of the building situations may occur.
- Tools/Equipment Used: Daily use of computers, printers, telephone and fax machines, copier, etc.
