Summary:

Receives, stores, cares for and distributes grain and other products within the company by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Unloads, cleans, stores, and maintains grain received at the location. Ensures grain quality is maintained during storage process.
  • Moves grain within location, cleans and inspects bins, and loads grain for shipment.
  • Maintains warehouse, location grounds and equipment to acceptable company standards.
  • Assists with other location functions as needed during slow times.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory records, as well as other maintenance and housekeeping records in appropriate log books.
  • Assists in monitoring temperature cables, walking flats, tracking fan usage, monitoring bunker storage, monitoring grain dryer output and other location specific duties to ensure exceptional grain inventory quality.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Depth perception. The employee is exposed to long seasonal work hours.

Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

No Computer skills needed.

Certificates and Licenses:

May be required to maintain a current weighing license and grain grading certificate.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
