Job Summary
Maintain and repair a wide range of battery powered electrical material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, rapid delivery carts, and floor care equipment to ensure continual and safe operation.
Job Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical system on equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, rapid delivery carts, and floor care equipment.
- Perform scheduled quarterly preventive maintenance inspections and regular repairs on equipment i.e. replacing load wheels and steer tires, replacing connectors on batteries, repairing components of the water stringer system, etc.
- Occasionally provides emergency/unscheduled repairs.
- May perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two years of work experience.
- Previous experience as an electric powered MHE mechanic preferred.
- Knowledge electrical systems and components required.
- Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Must have own tools.
- Prior experience using pallet jack or forklift preferred. Ability to obtain certification upon hire is required.
- Speaking: Constantly with customers (investigates, negotiates, recommends, reports, etc.)
- Acute Vision: Constantly (observing both near and far, reading documents)
- Typing: Frequently using electronic devices for day-to-day business
- Bending/Squatting: Frequently
- Lifting: Frequent- Lift 50 lbs. or less
- Driving: travel between Customer Locations (must be able to drive)
