Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience using learning management systems (LMS) and instructional technologies.
- Experience delivering effective training.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and inclusively within a diverse campus community, including with faculty and students.
- Organized, self-directed, and comfortable communicating within a remote environment, as needed.
- Knowledge and experience with the following:
- Microsoft Office software
- Google Apps
- Canvas or similar LMS
- Availability to work occasional evening and/or weekend hours based on fluctuating service needs.
- Master’s degree in instructional design methodology, arts technology, digital media, or related field.
- College-level teaching experience.
- Experience managing a helpdesk or an academic resource space
- Knowledge and experience with any of the following:
- Graphic and text editing software
- Audio and video recording hardware and editing software
- 3D printing
- Virtual reality hardware and software
- Knowledge and experience with physical and digital accessibility standards including: ADA Section 508 web accessibility and/or a11y methodology
- Relevant certifications, such as Quality Matters Coordinator, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, ION, OLC, and/or IAAP (International Association of Accessibility Professionals).
- Serve as a resource to faculty, staff, and students on technology and pedagogical matters and assist in one-on-one and group settings.
- Coordinate daily operations of the Teaching and Learning Center, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of instructional technology equipment, ensuring that equipment is in good working order.
- Maintain accurate and relevant Teaching and Learning Center procedures and user guides.
- Assist faculty, staff, and students in developing and producing multi-media artifacts using technologies in the Teaching and Learning Center.
- Work with faculty to plan, organize, and coordinate instructional technology needs for in-person, blended, and online classes.
- Work collaboratively with supervisor and/or other Academic Affairs administrators in evaluating and updating equipment and software, and with the integration of new teaching and learning technologies. Research and make recommendations for the acquisition of new equipment and software as well as effective and creative use of multi-media in teaching and learning.
- Provide training, supervision, scheduling, and evaluation of student employees in the Teaching and Learning Center.
- Provide technical support for hardware and software including vendor support escalations.
- In collaboration with appropriate department staff, assist with the administration of the LMS. This includes but is not limited to creating, backing up, and restoring courses and managing user and course accounts.
- Assist in the set-up, use, and tear-down of instructional technology equipment at meetings, orientations, or other College events.
- Produce high-quality multimedia products for training and development purposes. Maintain accurate records of multimedia development, production, and contact logs.
- Assist faculty and staff with options for presenting instructional materials using a variety of software applications including but not limited to Yuja, Photoshop, podcasting, videoconferencing, digital cameras, and audio/video editing software. Make recommendations and support implementation.
- Maintain current technical skills by attending training and relevant professional development offerings on new equipment and learning new/modified procedures and software.
