Payroll Specialist
Heartland Concrete and Construction, Inc. is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our growing organization as our new Payroll Specialist onsite at our Hastings location.
Do you have a passion for precision and a team-first mindset? We are looking for a Payroll Specialist who enjoys using modern software systems to quickly onboard and jump in with us as we develop and implement new processes to accommodate our growing workforce.
The company will soon be adopting new payroll processing tools that you will utilize to ultimately take complete ownership of our weekly payroll cycle. In this role, your ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and apply company policies will be key to your success—all while working with limited direct oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations.
- Verify and review employee timecards, wage calculations, deductions, and benefit adjustments.
- Manage employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, tax forms, and benefits, providing clear and timely responses.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity within our payroll system.
- Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll, benefits, and compliance initiatives.
- Assist with end-of-year payroll processes, including W-2 distribution and tax filings.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and help implement best practices.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education preferred.
