SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clinical Director provides exemplary clinical administration and leadership to agency programs and services. Responsibility of overall agency therapeutic supervision and quality assurance occurs at this level. High level skills in supervision, leadership and management are required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in a Behavioral Health Field
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • Active Behavioral Health License to practice in Iowa and Nebraska; substance use disorder experience preferred.

If dual license is not currently present, would have the ability to obtain quickly.

  • Ten years of Clinical practice experience and five years of clinical supervision experience.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementing clinical activities in conjunction with clinical supervisory staff, psychiatric practitioners, and medical director to offer an organized structure for clinical staff across all disciplines and relevant agency programs.
  • Plan and implement relevant clinical training to agency practitioners and clinical supervisors.
  • Provide clinical supervision and evaluate performance of associate clinical director.
  • Assists in project / systems implementation in the psychiatric department.
  • Determine and oversee implementation of clinical best practices in all agency programs.
  • Runs monthly clinical programming for all clinicians across the agency.
  • Liaison for programs to the Medical Director
  • Supports our quality improvement team in conducting clinical record reviews for our staff to ensure high quality of clinical care.
  • Conducts clinical debriefs for staff and programs that have experienced significant events.
  • Provides clinical support and quality oversight of designated collaborative organizations that we partner with.
  • Provide direct clinical care to a small caseload of clients.
  • Participate on the Trauma Informed Care Task Force of the agency.
  • Participate in planning and implementation of agency integrated behavioral health programming or services.
  • Contribute to clinical portions of grant funding requests.
  • Participate in the clinical aspects of new program development in accordance with the principles, policies, and culture of the agency.
  • Develop, implement, and review relevant clinical policies, procedures and practice standards.
  • Establish standards for a comprehensive client record and for clinical documentation practices in compliance with applicable agency, state, and other regulatory and professional requirements.
  • Establish protocols for outpatient, residential, and crisis intervention services including admission, discharge, continuity of care, and level of care.
  • Participate in the process of internal quality improvement for clinical programs. Works with program staff to develop and implement clinical quality improvement projects.to improve client outcomes.
  • Set, monitor and ensure compliance with relevant licensing, funding, regulating and accrediting standards as related to clinical practice.
  • Participate in program teams and mobilize clinical staff when needed in response to audit requests, in addition participate in audit exit interviews and improvement plans.
  • Represent the agency as a liaison with other community providers, professionals, and organizations.
  • Display a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the agency.
  • Cooperate and collaborate with program area staff, volunteers, and other agency staff.
  • Maintain regular, prompt attendance at the office on a consistent and reliable basis.
  • Abide by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
  • Develop personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and audio and / or visual media.
  • Creates, maintains, and shares as appropriate a dynamic self-care plan.
  • Strives to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible to contribute to the agency’s ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts.
  • Essential functions of this job is to be performed on company physical work site.
  • Perform other program related duties as assigned.
