We are looking for a skilled and dedicated furnace & air conditioning installer to join our team at Heartland Heating & Cooling in Grimes, Iowa!

As a HVAC system installer, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of professionals who are committed to providing top-notch HVAC services to our customers. Your main responsibility will be to replace & install HVAC systems in residential and commercial properties. This is a hands-on position that requires attention to detail, technical skills, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities :

Install HVAC systems, including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and ductwork.
Perform equipment testing to ensure proper operation and efficiency.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Maintain compliance with local HVAC codes and safety standards.
Collaborate with team members, contractors, and clients to ensure timely project completion.
Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications :

High school diploma or GED; technical school or trade certification preferred.

Minimum 2 years of HVAC installation experience.

EPA certification (Type II or Universal) required.

Strong understanding of HVAC systems, tools, and equipment.

Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work in various conditions (e.g., heights, tight spaces).

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Physical Requirements & work environment include :

While performing duties of this position, employees are required to walk, balance on feet, stoop, squat, bend, climb, reach above head, crawl, talk, hear and drive company vehicles. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.

Must have the necessary physical stamina; to include, but not limited to, long-term overhead HVAC work.

Must be able to lift overhead up to 25 lbs. several times per week. If lifting more than 50 lbs.-request assistance.

Must be comfortable working in tight spaces for an extended period of time in crawl spaces and attics.

Must be able to work for extended hours or work days

Must be careful during work to avoid injury (squatting, bending, ladders and stair safety, etc.)

Specific vision abilities needed include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to work with powered construction tools (such as electric snips, Sawzall, drills etc.)

Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

While performing the duties of this position employees will be exposed to various weather conditions including inclement weather including wet and / or humid conditions, extreme heat and extreme cold temperatures.

Occasional exposure to loud noise level environments.
