What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver / Personal Care Assistant (PCA) position at Heartland PCA LLC?
Monday, Tuesday, & Friday from 4pm - 10pm | $17.20 per hour
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Candidate must be reliable.
- Be at least sixteen (16) years of age
- Be willing to complete (or have already completed) the MN DHS training program that provides the PCA with the skills required to perform Personal Care Assistant services (NOTE: CNA, HHA, or other training might be approved for substitution. Please inquire if you're unsure.)
- Have the ability to work with little direct supervision
- Have demonstrated dependability, tact, and ability to follow orders
- Possess good interpersonal communication skills
- Possess and maintain good physical and mental health
- Must not have jeopardized health and welfare of vulnerable adults through physical abuse, sexual abuse, or neglect
- Be able to pass state and federal background checks
- Preferred: Valid Driver's License and proof of vehicle liability insurance
Caregivers...
- Will assist client with dinner / bedtime routine.
- Provide services necessary to maintain client's personal health and safety
- Assist client to complete daily living skills such as dressing/undressing, oral hygiene, bathing, grooming, hair washing, and other personal hygiene needs
- Perform transfers, turning, and positioning
- Assist with incidental household services
- Assist with medications (normally self-administered)
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Treat clients and families with respect
- Understand, accept and respond to the emotional needs of each client
- Be adaptable to a variety of environments and settings in the community
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary
Physical demands might involve:
- Lifting clients, bending, stooping, and stretching
- Assessing clients' physical and emotional needs and be able to respond appropriately
