TITLE: Scheduling Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing/ Administrator
Position Summary: The Scheduling/Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the nursing schedule.

Qualifications: Two years of previous experience with nursing scheduling preferred. High school graduate with additional education in business administration preferred. Basic knowledge in accounting and business arithmetic. Medical purchasing experience preferred. The Scheduling Coordinator is also required to have an ability to read, write and speak English, and complete and pass a state required background study form which checks for certain criminal convictions or serious/recurring maltreatment.
General Responsibilities:
- Maintain and coordinate nursing schedule ensure adequate/appropriate staffing. Scheduler makes nursing schedule and fills all shifts to ensure adequate staffing. He/She also provides information to Director of Nursing and Human Resources for position needs.
- Complete daily nursing assignment sheets timely.
- Meet with new employees to set up orientation schedule and explain scheduling process. Check in with new employees after a few days of orientation to see how the orientation process is proceeding.
- Enters adjustments and reviews payroll time punches for all non-exempt nursing team members.
- Keep the on-call nursing list current – staff must meet on call/background study requirements.
- Consults with department heads on technical data with specialized items.
- Answer all incoming calls in a professional manner and transfer them appropriately
- Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Track and trend employee absences
- Complete required staff reporting to the appropriate agencies
- Demonstrates dependable, professional work habits.
- Basic competencies regarding abuse, neglect, exploitation, and misappropriation of resident property
- Scan and upload documents for departments as needed
- Facilitate tours of HSL
- Basic competencies regarding dementia management, infection control, and other areas as identified through the facility assessment
- Knowledge of HIPAA and QAPI regulations
- Respond to emergency codes, ie: fire
- Other Duties as directed
