General Manager

Job Overview
Heartland Steel is an industry leader in the design and manufacture of high-quality steel racking, platforms, and safety solutions. We are seeking a General Manager to oversee business operations at our Lodi, California location and support other locations as needed. The General Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective leadership of the entire operation with the primary objective of ensuring the operations meets its strategic goals, achieves profitability and maintains a competitive edge in the market.

The successful candidate should possess considerable experience with manufacturing operations, particularly in alignment with broader growth initiatives. The candidate should demonstrate energy and passion with regards to safety, leadership, teamwork, collaboration and driving a winning mindset and culture.

Key Responsibilities:

-Develop and implement business strategies that align with the short-and long-term business objectives and ensure business performance improvements.

-Manage operation and business plans to achieve targeted cost, quality and efficiency results that maximize value for the business. Optimize processes, improves efficiencies and promote continuous improvement.

-Deliver operational excellence and customer satisfaction through optimizing capacities, total cost effectiveness, delivery performance and value to the customer base.

-Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and financial reporting to ensure all operations and departments are running efficiently and effectively. Full P&L responsibility.

-Collaborate with sales and marketing on initiatives and strategies for growth.

-Build and maintain trusted relationships with key customers, vendors, and stakeholders.

-Optimize capital expenditures to sustain operations, drive value, and achieve growth and profitability targets.

-Ability to build, lead, and oversee a multi-disciplinary team; must be able to assign responsibilities effectively and ensure all functions are performed on time with close attention to detail.

-Plan and execute resource planning to ensure business objectives are met.

-Project management including strategic planning, schedule management, risk management, and project execution.

-Ability to anticipate potential issues and make high-pressure decisions within ambiguity.

-Assess and mitigate risk.

Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:

- Ten (10) plus years of relevant experience in a high-level operations leadership role.

-Bachelor's degree in Business or related field; master's degree is a plus.

-Full P&L responsibility experience.

-Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and financial analysis.

-The ability to think strategically, set short/long-term goals, and create actionable plans to achieve them.

-In-depth knowledge of our industry and best practices.

-Demonstrated success in developing and executing manufacturing strategies, optimizing operations to achieve cost reductions and productivity gains while operating in a demanding customer environment.

-The capacity to adapt to changing circumstances and market dynamics.

-Effective communication, ability to create and make presentations as needed, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

-Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

-Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
