Position Purpose

Highland Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary facility located in Big Spring, Texas, approximately 45 minutes east of Midland. We are currently a one doctor practice and are excited to continue our incredible growth with a second and third! Our strong support staff allows our doctor to be focused on a high level of patient care and client education. We enjoy a diverse range of medical and surgical cases and are happy to support your unique clinical interests. We encourage veterinarians of all experience levels to apply as we would be happy to support a new graduate with our robust, personalized mentorship and development program. We are seeking a veterinarian with a passion for surgery who is looking for the opportunity to join a booming practice with outstanding, highly compliant clientele.  We focus on educating clients on the highest quality care and building lifelong relationships with pets and pet owners, while also being supported by a highly skilled team.

We have a devoted and appreciative clientele that are highly invested in their pet’s health – some of our clients have been coming to us for generations! We have progressive, up-to-date equipment that includes: digital radiography, digital dental radiology, ultrasound, and a complete in-house lab. 

Our veterinarian is excited to add another doctor to the team to continue our legacy of providing quality care to our patients in the community. Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
