The Service Technician is a critical role within the Operations and Support team and will be responsible for troubleshooting Heartland’s systems.
Key responsibilities of this position include :
Configure, commission, service devices and instrumentation in the Tech Center and in the field.
Make minor troubleshooting tweaks to logic and HMI screens
Maintain development lab, support controls related tasks that are convenient or tied to the Tech Center on behalf of the company
Support instrumentation specifications, QA / QC, etc
Be able to redline electrical schematics and P&IDs
Manage FAT equivalents for Heliostorm from a controls perspective.
Skillset Requirements :
Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or related technical field
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT), Electrical Technician Certification, or a PLC programming certification preferred.
2–4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical or electrical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
Familiarity with configuring and maintaining industrial automation systems, including PLCs and HMIs.
Experience in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical drawings.
Proficiency in electrical systems, including AC / DC circuits, motors, and drives.
Knowledge of mechanical systems, such as pumps, valves, compressors, and hydraulic systems.
Understanding of process instrumentation (e.g., sensors, flow meters, pressure gauges) and QA / QC procedures.
Basic programming skills for logic controllers (e.g., ladder logic).
Must be able to climb ladders and steps, lift up to 50 pounds, walk on outdoor surfaces.
A very strong work ethic – a self-starter who thrives on hard work and the challenge of solving problems. Willingness to pitch in and just get things done that need to be done.
Travel to project, customer and vendor sites will require overnight stays.
