Job Responsibilities:
As a Funeral Director, you will play a key role in helping families navigate the funeral planning process with dignity and care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing exceptional compassionate service to families by guiding them through funeral arrangements and final wishes.
- Coordinating and directing funeral services, celebrations, visitations, memorials, and burials.
- Handling legal and administrative tasks such as filing death certificates, obtaining permits, and coordinating with clergy, cemeteries, and other service providers.
- Ensuring seamless operations by overseeing transportation, embalming (if applicable), and proper care of the deceased.
- Offering grief support and ongoing assistance to families before, during, and after services.
- Maintaining compliance with all state and federal laws, industry regulations, and funeral home policies.
- Participating in community outreach to strengthen Heartlight Funeral Services' commitment to service beyond the funeral.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Funeral Director in Utah (or ability to obtain licensure).
- Experience in funeral directing and arranging services preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- A compassionate, professional demeanor and the ability to provide comfort to grieving families.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations.
- Proficiency in funeral service software, Microsoft Office, and general administrative tasks.
- A valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.
