Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and knowledge in hospice or healthcare operations and sales management
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience managing operations in healthcare, hospice preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct management personnel
  • Understanding of business processes and systems that support the healthcare industry
  • Experience in changing organizational processes to implement standard methods and practices
  • Must have outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills along with a strong executive presence
  • Possess good organization, people, and problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task many projects and strategies simultaneously
  • Knowledge of business management and a working knowledge of the Medicare Hospice Benefit preferred
  • Experience with EMR / Customer Relationship software is a plus

What You Will Do :

  • Organize and direct Agency's ongoing functions, including operational and organizational planning, budgeting, and monitoring progress toward operational and strategic goals
  • Ensure interdisciplinary care is provided while ethical business and clinical practice are maintained
  • Direct staff in the performance of duties including admission, discharge, transfer, revocation, and provision of services to patients
  • Ensure documentation of services provided is accurate and timely
  • Employ qualified personnel and ensure adequate staff education and evaluation, including orientation, in-service, continuing education, competency testing, and performance improvement. Ensure maintenance of personnel records
  • Ensure appropriate staff supervision during all service hours and ensure support services are available to staff
  • Ensure accuracy of public information, materials, and activities
  • Maintain knowledge of service systems in the community served by the agency and ensure services provided are approved by the hospice
  • Ensure Agency operates in compliance with federal and state law
  • Take action on reports from regulatory or inspection agencies
  • Responsible for supervision and evaluation of family satisfaction surveys
  • Manage conflict and complaint resolution
  • Implement and monitor an effective budgeting and accounting system that promotes the health and safety of the agency's patients and monitors business operations to ensure financial stability
  • Ensure adequate space, equipment, and supplies are available
  • Ensure completion and maintenance of required reports to the governing body and maintain an ongoing liaison with the governing body
  • Participate in quality improvement activities including developing and implementing appropriate policies to accomplish identified outcomes
  • Evaluate services and staff against measured outcomes
  • Ensure actionable objectives are derived from the evaluation of these services and personnel
  • Evaluate program, services, and personnel
  • Direct preparation of the annual report of operations and annual agency evaluation
  • Participate in all mandatory staff in-services and meetings
  • Timely submission of all documentation
  • Conduct all business activities in a professional and ethical manner
  • Performance of other duties as required
  • Ensure overall compliance with local, state, and federal laws, Medicare regulations, and established personnel policies and procedures
